On Saturday night, the Char-Lan Rebels Junior Hockey Club welcomed home its most decorated alumni! Kent McDonell, a product of Char-Lan Minor Hockey Association and the Junior Rebels, was honoured in a special pre-game ceremony ahead of their CCHL2 contest vs the Brockville Tikis. McDonell was recognized as the only product of Char-Lan’s hockey system to have skated on hockey highest stage! A season with the Columbus Blue Jackets in ’03-04 was the pinnacle of his incredible 20+ year Junior and Professional hockey career. With a good community crowd in attendance, including his family and friends, a banner was revealed that will hang in the Char-Lan Rec Centre in his honour. The current club rewarded the crowd with a 9-4 win vs the visiting Tikis!
